The Port Townsend Public Library renovation and expansion is being made possible
in part by a major grant from the
National Endowment for the Humanities: Exploring the Human Endeavor

The Port Townsend Public Library Foundation has received an offer of National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Challenge Grant CH-51077, which may provide up to $500,000 in funding for the renovation and expansion of the Port Townsend Public Library at the Carnegie site.

All donations and pledges to the Capital Campaign will be gratefully used to meet the fundraising match required by the NEH Challenge Grant.

About the Foundation

• Independent, 501(c)(3) organization with its own governing board.

• Manages the library endowment fund to support library needs that go beyond those funded by the City of Port Townsend or the Friends of the Port Townsend Public library.

Gifting to the Foundation

Gifts to the Foundation can be used in 4 different ways --

• Unrestricted Donations: Allow the Foundation to use your gift wherever the need is greatest.

• General Endowment Plan: Used to grow the fund and generate income that will be contributed annually to the library for a broad range of needs.

• Capital Endowment Fund: Supports long-term capital construction projects and facilities improvements.

• Legacy (Planned) Giving: Some commonly used legacy/planned giving options include Bequests, Charitable Trusts, Transfers from Retirement Plans, and Gifts of Life Insurance.
  

Gifts can be cash and/or property, gifts through corporations, memorial gifts, charitable trusts, retirement plan assets, or bequests in wills.
