On Christmas Day, NASA successfully launched the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), a successor to the Hubble. The telescope is planned to be commissioned in late June or early July. Learn how the JWST differs from Hubble, where it is and why it is deployed there, and how its mission fits into the overall NASA mission. The presentation will also cover its cryo-vacuum testing and what was done to make this telescope ready to function in the coldness of space. There will also be an update as to how its commissioning is going.
