Port Townsend Public Library - Pink House
The State of Washington is launching an effort to identify and document sites related to the LGBTQ history of western Washington. Port Townsend-based historian Susan Ferentinos is serving as lead investigator on the project and will be hosting a community conversation at the Port Townsend Public Library Pink House on October 15, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Come learn more about the project and share your thoughts on significant people, places, and events in the history of LGBTQ communities in this region.
Susan Ferentinos, PhD, is a public history researcher, writer, and consultant based in Port Townsend, WA. Working throughout the United States, Dr. Ferentinos helps cultural organizations expand the stories they tell about the past. She is the author of the book Interpreting LGBT History at Museums and Historic Sites, and the lead author of a statewide study of LGBTQ history in Maryland, which received the 2024 Allan Bérubé Award for LGBTQ public history.
