Olympic Discovery Trail Talk with Peninsula Trails Coalition
You're invited to join us for "Olympic Discovery Trail Talk with the Peninsula Trails Coalition" at the Port Townsend Public Library. We'll share the very latest on trail development and connections in Port Townsend and Jefferson County. Welcome remarks and introductions will be made by Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour. Speakers include Eron Berg from the Port of Port Townsend, Steve King from the City of Port Townsend, Nicole Gauthier from Jefferson Transit, Eric Kuzma from Jefferson County Public Works, and Ann Livingston, Executive Director, Peninsula Trails Coalition.
The Library's Community Read book for the month of March is "Ian’s Ride: A Long-Distance Journey to Joy" by Karen Polinsky. Stop by the library to pick up a copy (if available) or grab an ODT map. Ian Mackay is a nationally recognized trail advocate, daily user of the Olympic Discovery Trail, and a sponsor of the Peninsula Trails Coalition. Read more about Ian's story here.
Read, Ride and Reconnect along the Olympic Discovery Trail in Port Townsend on Sunday, March 21 at 2:00 PM. The ride starts at the Milo Curry Trailhead and travels along the Larry Scott Trail/Olympic Discovery Trail to the Port Townsend Boat Haven, with an aid station at the Cape George Trailhead. This section of the trail is accessible and doable for most accessibility devices, as well as cyclists and riders of all levels. This event was inspired by the library's community read program.
