PRESS RELEASE - City Of Port Townsend Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Announces Grant Funding For 2026
Annual LTAC grant program seeks proposals related to tourism by January 5
December 1, 2025 PORT TOWNSEND – The City of Port Townsend Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is inviting proposals for 2026 grant funding. Grants are available for tourism-related marketing and projects that help fulfill the advisory committee’s vision of sustainable tourism, wherein reinvesting community resources enhances the lives of both residents and visitors.
$50,000 is available in LTAC grants in 2026, with awards for projects, events, and marketing ranging between $1,000 - $10,000 depending on the number of applicants and eligible projects. Community organizations engaged in tourism can apply in one round of funding. All proposals should connect to the vision of City LTAC and must meet the requirements of RCW 67.28, regulating the use of Lodging Tax funds. Non-profit organizations who apply are also asked to demonstrate the success of bringing visitors for overnight stays during the shoulder seasons (October through May), show how their project benefits local jobs, and highlight partnerships with lodging businesses.
The application deadline is Monday, January 5, at 5:00pm and all proposals will be discussed at a regular meeting of LTAC scheduled for Tuesday, January 13, 3:00pm. Guidelines, criteria, and an application portal are available on the City’s website. A recorded grant application webinar, including an overview of reporting requirements, was held on Tuesday, February 13, 2025 and is a helpful resource for first time applicants. The webinar can be found on the City’s YouTube channel.
